Overview

Position: Senior Software Engineer

Job Location: 1375 Crossman Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94089

Responsibilities

• Acquire in-depth technical knowledge of omnichannel cloud platforms, web traffic flows, micro-services, and service dependencies for major incident resolution.
• Provide support for Unix and Linux systems from Kernel to Shell and beyond, considering system libraries, file systems, and client-server protocols.
• Leverage knowledge of network technologies such as protocols, MAC addresses, IP packets, DNS, CDN, OSI layers, firewalls, gateways, proxies, and load balancers.
• Provide L1 and L2 production support for multiple cloud technologies such as OpenStack, Cloud Native platforms, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform for triaging critical issues using internal and vendor tools.
• Detect and analyze monitoring graphs and alerts to identify systems causing production impacts with tools including Grafana, Prometheus, MMS, Kibana, Graphite, ServiceNow, JIRA, Dynatrace, New Relic, Omniture, Splunk, and CDN logs.
• Triage site-impacting production issues by quantifying impact, severity and urgency, analyzing systems for quick remediation, engaging the right teams for recovery, and restoring large-scale enterprise systems.
• Develop enterprise monitoring and utilize tooling such as Grafana, Kibana, Splunk, Graphite, New Relic to improve visibility, proactively detect issues, and restore system availability.
• Design and implement JavaScript for integration of alerting tools with service API endpoints using tools including ServiceNow, Spotlight and xMatters.
• Design and develop solutions for internal communications for cloud applications support or workflows for infrastructure availability issues with multiple programming languages including Java, JavaScript (React, Node.js), Python and shell scripting; include Prometheus and database query languages.
• Demonstrate knowledge of scripting and software development for automation and self-healing of multi-cloud environments.
• Enhance existing solutions by developing automation with Docker and Kubernetes and collaborating with DevOps and Engineering partners.
• Provide data and participate in root cause analysis; analyze trends to pro-actively prevent incidents; drive continuous improvement with documentation; make recommendations; adhere to onboarding processes when accepting new systems into service.

Qualifications

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor\'s degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any) or related field and 5 years of experience in large scale enterprise software development environment; OR Master’s degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any) or related field and 2 years of experience in large scale enterprise software development environment.

Skills required: Experience with Omnichannel eCommerce production support. Experience with Linux and Unix system administration. Experience with networking knowledge and troubleshooting. Experience in cloud and triaging. Experience with alert, monitoring, and log analysis. Experience with incident triage, escalation and resolution. Experience enhancing monitoring solutions. Experience enhancing alerting solutions. Experience with development tools and support. Experience with automation and self-healing. Experience with continuous improvements, process documentation, and onboarding. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range: $264,514/year to $264,514/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) based on location and stock equity incentives.
