What You Will Do:

• Conduct in-depth reviews and analyses of requests for exceptions to U.S. Department of Treasury Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctions.

• Evaluate diverse financial and business data within license and exception applications across various OFAC sanctions programs.

• Manage and process older licensing cases within OFAC sanctions programs to streamline operations and enhance customer service.

• Compose detailed responses to exception requests, including license denials and interpretive guidance letters.

• Perform research and document intricate financial, trade, and business activities using multiple data sources to uphold sanctions programs.

• Review pre-publication requests for sensitive information.

• Prepare and deliver weekly updates and progress reports for leadership evaluation.

What You Will Need:

• An active and maintained Top Secret/SCI (TS/SCI) federal or DoD security clearance.

• Bachelor's degree or four years of equivalent professional experience.

• A minimum of three years of experience related to sanctions, financial crimes, or relevant fields.

• Ability to work full-time in a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) in Washington, DC.

What Would Be Nice To Have:

• Expert knowledge of comprehensive sanctions programs, particularly relating to geopolitical issues such as Russia/Ukraine/Belarus or Iran.

• Familiarity with analytical methods and techniques for sanctions program evaluations, including experience in large data collection and analysis.

• Background in analyzing and investigating sanctions and financial crimes.

• Prior collaboration with OFAC or involvement in law enforcement and intelligence task forces.

• Experience with OFAC licensing and exception request processes.

• Proficiency in data and link analysis, using tools such as i2 Analyst's Notebook and Palantir.

• Knowledge of public record and open-source databases like LexisNexis and PACER.

• General understanding of the U.S. Department of Treasury's Office of Terrorism and Financial Intelligence (TFI) structure and functions.

• Foreign language skills relevant to current sanctions programs, including Arabic, Russian, or Spanish.

The annual salary range for this position is $98,000.00-$163,000.00, with decisions based on various factors, such as skills and experience.
