- During initial license training, potential total compensation earnings from $159,000.00 to $182,000.00 annually (depending on experience and past license status), including a 15% annual incentive bonus, an initial sign-on bonus, a $10,000 bonus spread through training milestones, and a comprehensive benefits package, along with a 401(k) featuring company matching contributions.
- After obtaining the SRO license, potential total compensation earnings from $191,000.00 annually, including a target 15% annual bonus, a License Premium, and extended hours pay at 1.5 times the base salary for mandated operation shift coverage.
Relocation Assistance : Relocation assistance may be available to eligible candidates under the Company’s policy.
We are seeking Initial License Trainees (ILT) to become licensed Senior Reactor Operators (SRO) in support of Quad Cities Nuclear Station, located in Cordova, IL.
The primary purpose of this role is to train and prepare to perform the duties of an Operations Shift Supervisor, holding a Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) License. Upon successful completion of the training program, the candidate will be fully licensed by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) to oversee the licensed activities of reactor operators in the control room and to supervise bargaining unit reactor and equipment operators.
Primary Duties and Accountabilities
- Participate in Initial License Training (ILT), which includes classroom training, examinations, and on-the-job training and evaluations.
- Successfully complete all training phases to obtain an SRO license, enabling the performance of Operations Shift Supervisor duties.
- Fulfill additional job assignments and responsibilities as directed by management, which may include emergency response duties, departmental coverage, call outs, and assisting with outage activities in various roles outside the department.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Meet one of the following criteria:
- 1 year as a Reactor Operator at a comparable facility or 1.5 years at a non-comparable facility. (Comparable qualifications include Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR) to PWR or Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) to BWR; non-comparable is PWR to BWR or BWR to PWR.)
- 1.5 years or more in a role equivalent to Reactor Operator (or Supervisor) in military reactor positions (e.g., Power Plant Watch Engineer, Engineering Watch Supervisor, Reactor Operator, Engineering Officer of the Watch, Propulsion Plant Watch Supervisor) with at least 1.5 years after qualification.
- A degree from a 4-year program in engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, or a professional engineer license, paired with over 1.5 years as a qualified non-licensed operator, supervisor, or manager in operations, engineering, outage management, maintenance, radiation protection, chemistry, or accredited training at a comparable (BWR or PWR) facility. Managerial, staff engineer, or supervisor experience at a non-comparable plant may be credited at a ratio of 1.5:1.0 (i.e., 2.25 years required for non-comparable facility) and will require 3 years for non-traditional degrees.
- Maintain minimum access or unescorted access requirements, as necessary, along with a favorable medical examination and/or testing as applicable to the duties of the position.
