nKimley-Horn has an opportunity for a Senior PV Electrical Engineer - Practice Builder to lead and expand our solar engineering practice. This high-impact role is ideal for a proven leader with strong industry relationships, a track record of winning work, and the ability to build and scale a high-performing team quickly.

Business Development & Client Relationships:

Leverage industry connections to generate new business and expand market presence.

Develop strategic partnerships with utilities, developers, EPCs, and key stakeholders.

Lead proposal development, contract negotiations, and project acquisitions.
n n - n
Practice Growth & Leadership:
n n - n
Recruit, mentor, and build a best-in-class PV engineering team.
n n - n
Establish technical and operational best practices for project execution.
n n - n
Drive revenue growth through new opportunities and service offerings.
n n - n
Project & Technical Excellence:
n n - n
Oversee the electrical design of large-scale PV and energy storage projects.
n n - n
Ensure compliance with NEC, IEEE, UL, and interconnection requirements.
n n - n
Optimize system performance through advanced modeling and engineering analysis.
n n - n
Market & Industry Influence:
n n - n
Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and client meetings.
n n - n
Stay ahead of emerging technologies, regulations, and market trends.
n n
Qualifications
n- n
- n
10+ years of experience in PV electrical engineering, project development, or related fields.
n n - n
Established industry network with a strong reputation for winning and delivering work.
n n - n
Expertise in PV system design, interconnection, and grid integration.
n n - n
Strong leadership skills with the ability to rapidly scale a technical team.
n n - n
Deep understanding of NEC, IEEE, UL, and permitting requirements.
n n - n
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
n n - n
PE (Professional Engineer) registration preferred.
n n
Estimated Salary Range:
n- n

Base Salary: $130,000 to $200,000 per year

Eligible for performance based bonuses
