Senior MQ Systems Engineer - Security Clearance Required

Maximus is looking for a talented and experienced Senior MQ Systems Engineer to join our federal team supporting critical defense systems for Homeland Security. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the daily operations and administration of IBM MQ environments, ensuring secure and reliable message flow across various applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain a scalable and secure IBM MQ and Liberty messaging infrastructure.
• Monitor system health, optimize configurations, and identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
• Lead enterprise messaging initiatives, ensuring alignment with business and IT strategies.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting and support for complex MQ issues.
• Implement security controls and maintain compliance standards across MQ environments.
• Conduct capacity planning to support growth and scalability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for seamless messaging integration.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.
• Stay current on MQ technologies, patches, and best practices, recommending enhancements as needed.

Job-Specific Minimum Requirements:

• U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain a Secret clearance are mandatory.
• A minimum of 12 years of experience in an MQ Engineer role or related field.
• Experience with WebSphere is required.
• Candidates must be able to work on-site in Annapolis Junction, MD.
• Willingness to participate in a rotational on-call schedule.

Preferred Qualifications:

• IBM System Admin for MQ certification.
• Experience with IBM WebSphere Liberty.
