Senior Model Based Systems Engineer

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior Model Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) to join our team in Stafford, VA .

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  The Model Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) III is a leader in their field, using advanced modeling techniques to design and analyze complex systems

  n

• n

  With expertise in systems engineering principles and modeling languages, they create detailed system models that capture every aspect of system design and behavior

  n

• n

  These models provide powerful tools for analysis, simulation, and decision-making, helping to identify potential problems early and ensure that the final system meets all requirements

  n
n
• n

  Act as a bridge between different engineering disciplines, ensuring everyone works from the same blueprint, adhering to architectural frameworks like the Unified Architecture Framework (UAF) for consistency and interoperability

  n
n
• n

  Mentor Junior Engineers, sharing their expertise and promoting the use of model-based techniques throughout the organization

  n
n
• n

  Ultimately, their work leads to better designs, more efficient development processes, and higher quality systems

  n
n
• n

  Provides direction and mentorship to subordinate staff

  n
n

Minimum Qualifications:

n
• n

  BA/BS in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field or 4 years of additional experience in lieu of degree

  n
n
• n

  9+ years of relevant experience.

  n
n
• n

  Proficiency in at least one industry-standard modeling language (e.g., SysML, UML).

  n
n
• n

  Strong understanding of systems engineering principles (requirements management, system architecture, verification and validation).

  n
n
• n

  Experience with MBSE tools (e.g., Cameo Systems Modeler, MagicDraw, Rhapsody). Ability to develop and analyze complex system models. Strong understanding of simulation techniques and tools.

  n

• n

  Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS or Jama. Significant experience in systems engineering, with a strong focus on MBSE.

  n

• n

  Familiarity with the Unified Architecture Framework (UAF) for integrating system models with enterprise architecture..

  n
n

Preferred Qualifications:

n
• n

  Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

  n
n
• n

  Advanced knowledge of specific domain-related modeling (e.g., aerospace, automotive, defense). Experience with formal verification and validation methods.

  n

• n

  Experience with integrating MBSE tools with other engineering tools and Digital Twin technology.

  n
n
• n

  Experience in working with international standards (e.g., ISO, IEEE).

  n
n
• n

  Experience with proposal development, technical writing, and risk management as it pertains to system design.

  n
n
• n

  Certifications in MBSE or related areas (e.g., INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP)).

  n

• n

  Experience at a DoD Combatant Command (e.g., SOUTHCOM, NORTHCOM, CENTCOM, CYBERCOM, INDOPACOM, EUCOM, AFRICOM, STRATCOM, TRANSCOM, SOCOM, SPACECOM) or a component is desired

  n

Clearance Requirements:

• Must have an active/current TS/SCI security clearance.
