Job Description

The Sr Software Engineer designs functional, reliable, and cost-effective heavy-duty vehicle components. This role involves engineering analysis, design or re-design, and the development of components for both existing and new vehicles. The engineer provides integration and execution support for vehicle and component design.

Responsibilities

  Perform engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks under supervision according to industry standards and processes.

  Support engineers in preparing plans, designs, and computation methods.

  Manage projects or parts of projects of limited complexity, possibly multiple projects.

  Collaborate with internal engineering or business support disciplines and external suppliers.

  Provide guidance or mentorship to entry-level engineers, designers, or technicians.

  Maintain effective communication with suppliers, customers, and outside resources on technical issues.

  Enforce engineering criteria and drawing standards within company policies and procedures.

  Evaluate designs for performance, safety, and reliability.

• n

  Prepare layouts, drawings, specifications, and bills of material.

• n

  Conduct engineering analysis to select parts, components, and materials that meet requirements.

  Provide technical assistance for production support.

  n

• n

  Analyze and resolve engineering issues and communicate status through verbal or written communication.

  Prepare technical proposals, quotations, reports, and presentations.

  Create and maintain project documentation for analysis, research, and historical records.

  Utilize analytical and mathematical approaches to optimize designs.

Essential Skills

n
• n

  3+ years of relevant industry experience.

  n
n
• n

  Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Systems, or Software Engineering

• n

  Prior exposure to military combat systems

  n
n
• n

  Knowledge of video signal design and transmission systems

  n
n
• n

  Experience applying root-cause problem-solving methodologies

  n
n
• n

  Experience in electro-mechanical system integration

  n
n
• n

  Hands-on experience with product testing, test labs, or hardware-in-the-loop testing environments.

• n

  Strong technical writing skills with experience creating engineering documentation.

  n

• n

  Familiarity with data acquisition tools and post-processing techniques

  n
n

Work Environment

This is a full-time position requiring onsite presence. The work involves collaboration with various engineering disciplines and external suppliers, ensuring a dynamic and interactive environment. The role demands adherence to engineering standards and company policies, providing a structured yet innovative workspace.

This is a Contract position based out of Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
