Overview

What you’ll do as a Senior Solutions Engineer Manager, Federal
You are the team enabler, point of reference and coach. You will work closely with Public Sector prospects and customers by shadowing and improving your team’s technical expertise. You will care for new team members and ensure workloads are equally distributed. You are personable and can provide constructive feedback when necessary. You will help escalate and identify issues quickly and efficiently and you will work with other managers and the regional lead to ensure proper regional coordination. The Manager is a player/coach who still contributes individually.
To aid your team, you will collaborate with every team at Cloudflare, from Sales and Product to Engineering and Customer Support. Your goal of customer success should drive you through the entire organization as you seek to create scalable solutions for customers’ needs.
Desirable skills, knowledge, experience and goals
Our Solutions Engineering Managers come from diverse backgrounds including financial consulting, engineering, software development, product management, customer support and project delivery. We value diversity of experience and genuine curiosity for our technology. You should be passionate about technology, able to explain complex concepts simply, and enjoy coaching and teaching. You should be curious, hands-on, and have experience managing teams that work with customers representing complex enterprises. You will find a collaborative environment on the Solutions Engineering team and will help drive that culture.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience in coaching, leadership or team management of mid-sized Solutions Engineering organizations.
- Experience providing public sector contract management, contract negotiation, compliance, project management, or related support for commercial products, SaaS, PaaS, and/or government contract schedules or frameworks.
- Experience working with government agencies or customers in the United States.
- Demonstrable experience navigating technical sales for large enterprise accounts.
- Demonstrable experience understanding and solving escalations, team issues or other management related scenarios.
- Proven track record of partnering with account executives and customer success teams to deliver Cloudflare solutions.
Responsibilities
- Workload management
- Conduct 1:1s with team members
- Act as a point of escalation for team issues and escalate when unresolved
- Recruit, interview and onboard new team members
- Develop team members in skills, knowledge and career within Cloudflare
- Manage performance and set high standards
- Report on individual SE strengths and weaknesses
Compensation & Equity
Compensation may be adjusted based on work location. Eligible to earn incentive compensation under Cloudflare’s Sales Compensation Plan.
- Washington, DC area: estimated annual salary range $233,000 – $285,000
This role is eligible to participate in Cloudflare’s equity plan.
