General Summary
This position will lead the Marketing Operations & Budget Management function, in support of the Global Marketing team. The Sr Manager will have a comprehensive understanding of managing business operations and a track record of managing global Marketing budgets, including a variety of budget sources, cross-functional and cross-regional interdependencies and identify opportunities to maximize the Marketing investment. This person will drive operational excellence across the Marketing team, including identifying opportunities to drive efficiencies, creating and implementing operational efficiencies across the Marketing team. Knowing how to “connect the dots” across Marketing and cross-functionally is critical.
The ideal candidate for this position is an experienced business professional with strong operational and budget management business acumen. This candidate must have the ability to identify challenges, develop a solution, operationalize the solution and measure the results. Having the ability to prioritize in an ever-changing business environment with competing requirements is critical. This candidate will work across all-levels of the Marketing team and cross-functional teams, must be a strong communicator and inclusive collaborator who can drive engagement in others. This person must be able to analyze budget data and have the ability to influence others based on the data. This role will work in close alignment with the Marketing leadership team and with key stakeholders across Finance, Procurement, Facilities and HR.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the Marketing operations function across the team and lead operational efficiency efforts with cross-functional teams including, Finance, Procurement, Facilities and HR
- Drive the “new and different”: identify opportunities for efficiencies, AI integration, consistencies and overall effectiveness for Marketing team; create framework, structure and process; drive implementation and operationalization - be a change agent; tight collaboration with Marketing stakeholders and cross-departmental stakeholders; enable team to work smarter
- Oversee the holistic Marketing budget management function across sources, including communication cadence with Marketing leadership
- Evolve how budget is managed operationally; identify and implement tools across the Marketing team to drive budget optimization and efficiencies
- Drive data analysis to ensure investment is maximized and aligned with business priorities
- Drive pro-active and strategic partnership with Finance team; managing quarterly forecasting with Finance
- Establish trusted relationships across Marketing team and cross-departmental stakeholders
- Lead, develop and mentor the Marketing Operations team
- Track record of strong communication, leadership, team-building, and cross-functional collaboration
- Strong understanding of Financials and budget management best practices; fluency in Excel and Power Point is critical
- Ability to analyze numbers, identify opportunities and communicate meaningful budget stats to Marketing and Finance leadership
- Ability to prioritize team efforts that will drive the greatest value to the business in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Ability to synthesize feedback from key stakeholders, make an actionable plan and drive change
- Ability to think and lead globally, and execute locally within key regions, understanding critical ways of working and interdependencies between regions and HQ
- Communication: convey information clearly and accurately, choosing the most effective method of delivery; superior communication skills across all levels of leadership; skilled at creating executive level communication via powerpoint to gain alignment and sell-in ideas
- Ability to create and drive the “new and different” – create and produce breakthrough ideas, being a visionary, seeing and assessing multiple possible outcomes, have a broad interest and knowledge in the business; ability to gain support and drive new ideas to fruition

- Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related work experience.
High school Diploma or equivalent and 8+ years of Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related work experience.
- Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master’s = one year, Doctorate = two years) of work experience.
- 10+ years in business finance, operations, marketing or related work experience
- 10+ years working in a large matrixed organization
- Qualcomm knowledge a plus

Pay Range And Other Compensation & Benefits
$158,800.00 - $238,200.00
The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
