Leidos is on the lookout for a Load Balancer Network Engineer Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support a large enterprise IT initiative for the Department of Defense (DOD). This position involves the implementation, operations, and maintenance of load balancer technologies across a global enterprise, working on both on-premises and cloud resources. Responsibilities include adopting new technologies, optimizing performance, and implementing essential system patches. You will work collaboratively with a team to meet the mission needs of our internal and external stakeholders.

Primary Responsibilities

• Maintain the functionality of Secure Socket Layer/Transport Layer Security (SSL/TLS) offloading and PKI authentication features on F5 appliances.
• Ensure load balancing configurations and PKI certificates are routinely backed up in accordance with customer policies.
• Proactively notify load balancing and reverse proxy customers of impending PKI certificate expirations and assist with renewals.
• Create, manage, and troubleshoot load-balanced IP address spaces effectively.
• Collaborate with engineers and architects to develop and implement efficient technical solutions.
• Provide after-hours support to 24/7 IT Operations Center staff in troubleshooting service outages.
• Develop and update operating procedures and documentation to assist IT Operations Center personnel in initial troubleshooting and triage efforts.

Basic Qualifications

• Proven experience managing and administering F5 load balancer appliances in an enterprise environment.
• Familiarity with standards, concepts, and tools required for effective monitoring and management of F5 appliances.
• Technical expertise in backing up PKI certificates and appliance configurations.
• Capability in creating, managing, and troubleshooting load-balanced IP address spaces.
• Self-motivated with a track record of independently supporting customer requirements.
• Experience in collaborating with team members on requirements and solutions.
• Familiarity with IT Service Management tools such as ServiceNow.

Certifications

• Must meet DoDM (formerly DoD 8570) certification requirements for IT System Admin Intermediate (such as Cloud+, GICSP, SSCP, Security+ CE, GSEC, or higher).
• Must hold an F5 Certified Administrator (201) certification or higher.

Education

• Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 12 years relevant experience, or a Master's degree with at least 10 years of experience.
• Equivalencies: Associate's degree with 14 years of experience or a High School Diploma with 16 years of related experience may substitute for a Bachelor's degree.

Security Clearance

• U.S. Citizenship is required due to government contract obligations.
• Position requires a TS/SCI clearance with Poly, or TS/SCI with willingness to obtain and maintain.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $112,450.00 - $203,275.00
