Senior Expert Footwear Designer In Running

As a Senior Expert Footwear Designer in Running, you will be working hand-in-hand with a large project team of different professionals (engineers, researchers, scientists, marketing, testing, sustainability, materials, costing, etc.), collaborating within the design community (industrial designers, materials, color, graphics, computational, etc.), and be mentored by other designers. You will work under the direction of our Senior Director, Running Footwear Design, and be reviewed by other directors from other functions.

As our Senior Expert Footwear Designer in Nike Running you will build industry-leading innovative footwear designs (but not limited to) from concept to reality. We value strong problem solving in providing athletes* with measurable benefits in performance that are matched with breathtaking iconic designs.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Design or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training
• 8 plus years' experience designing and developing innovative footwear and other products
• Knowledge of form, color, materials, human factors, related to elevating the consumer experience
• Ability to translate consumer knowledge and insights into product solutions and narratives
• Experience in technical footwear design - running design is a plus
• Ability and passion to lead, mentor and onboard Design teammates
• Strong Photoshop, Illustrator skills
• Must be able to build accurate 2D technical drawings (tech packs)
• Cobbling and prototyping skills are a plus
• 3D design programs experience is a plus
• Strong sketching, illustration, and rendering skills
• Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials
• Must be able to generate a broad range of concepts and solutions for each project
• Knowledge and experience with sustainable design and manufacturing are a plus
• Experienced with presentation programs: Keynote, PowerPoint, Acrobat, etc.

The Senior Expert Designer will also collaborate and help build the design direction with the Senior Design Director. As a top-tier designer with deep knowledge and experience in footwear, you will be seen as a team leader and mentor for other designers.
