Senior Document Controller

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Document Controller to join the team for a company in the offshore energy industry. The Senior Document Controller oversees the daily processing of engineering and supplier documentation-including creation, release, transmittal, and revision-in alignment with Department Work Instructions and contractual obligations. Acting as a subject matter expert, this role manages integrated applications and workflows for document approval, control, and storage, ensuring compliance with client requirements and internal standards. Responsibilities include creating document placeholders per standard numbering procedures, performing quality checks, maintaining the Master Document Register and Document Distribution Matrix, and transmitting documentation via company and project-specific systems. The role also handles inbound client and supplier documentation, updates metadata across platforms, resolves document control issues independently, and communicates requirements to third parties. Additional duties may include mentoring junior staff, coordinating coverage during absences, and supporting special projects such as system testing and corporate training initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience
• 5-10 years of experience as a Document Controller in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) environment
• Proficiency in industry-standard document management and exchange systems such as Documentum, SmartPlant Foundation, Aconex, Supplier Exchange, etc.
• Ability to develop and modify spreadsheets using Excel, and extract raw data from databases to reformat in Excel.
• Proficiency with PDF automation tools such as Bluebeam and Adobe Acrobat Professional.
• Proficiency using remote collaboration tools such as MS Teams, WebEx, GoTo Meeting, etc.
Familiarity with typical engineering and supplier documentation types, terminology, processes, lifecycle steps, quality controls, and workflows.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Experience with a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system is highly desirable.
- Power Query Skills
