Senior Director, New Product Expansion

Overview

T-Mobile seeks exceptional talent for an executive leadership role. The Senior Director, New Product Expansion will guide strategy and execution for new T-Mobile Financial Services products, negotiate commercial terms, and implement a product roadmap to enhance offerings and drive revenue opportunities. This role interfaces with internal T-Mobile senior leadership and external partners, shaping how customers interact with T-Mobile for their day-to-day financial needs. The leader will bring deep expertise in Financial Services, product development lifecycle, and cross-functional collaboration to establish a shared vision and drive product execution. The goal is to provide financial service products across T-Mobile’s diverse businesses, from prepaid to postpaid, and to launch products that expand access for all customers while pursuing synergistic growth with other lines of business.

Job Responsibilities

• Owns the end-to-end roadmap and delivery of the multi-wave product expansion strategy from initial MVP launches to subsequent enhancements to drive company profits.
• Develops and maintains strategic partnerships with external customers; understands customers’ business strategies, generates ideas and product strategies aligned to both individual product and portfolio goals.
• Creates, owns, plans, and manages a portfolio of products and services through envisioning, investing, and innovating. Defines KPIs and metrics to measure product performance.
• Understands T-Mobile’s strategic and competitive position and delivers product experiences that are highly regarded; drives innovation and adoption of industry-leading practices.
• Leads a team to conduct market research and analysis, builds business cases, and collaborates with marketing, loyalty, and campaigns to package products for customers.
• Runs RFPs, negotiates commercial contracts, and makes high-judgment decisions for long-term success.
• Manages overall P&L with external financial institutions, banks, processors, payment networks, and other FinTechs.
• Ensures products align with existing roadmaps and identifies opportunities for synergistic growth with other lines of business.
• Sets up long-range plan targets with FP&A and collaborates with Product, Design, IT, Cyber Security, Marketing, and other internal partner groups to launch and manage products long term.
• Uses qualitative and quantitative data to set clear, measurable goals aligned to company and department objectives.
• Attracts, hires, and retains a high-performing team of Product Managers, Program Managers, Business Development Managers, and other staff.
• Implements organizational design thinking to structure the team efficiently, leveraging a mix of employees, managed services, and partners as needed.
• Fosters culture, processes, and continuous improvement across Agile teams; leads enterprise-scale service/process/tool improvements.
• Accounts for department budget, delivery and service performance, and ensures service levels are met or exceeded.

Education and Work Experience

• More than 10 years of Product Management experience in Financial Services within an agile software product development environment; advanced understanding of customer experience.
• 5+ years leading teams of 5+ managers with skip-level reporting experience.
• Strong knowledge of contract negotiations, RFP processes, and end-to-end product development.
• Proven track record of launching new financial products to millions of consumers.
• General Management and P&L experience highly desired.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or equivalent; Master’s preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

Base pay range: $207,700 – $280,900. Corporate bonus target: 35%. The pay range above reflects general base pay for the role; actual starting pay will depend on qualifications and experience. Most corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance.
