Senior DevSecOps Engineer

Description

SAIC is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior DevOps Software Engineer to join a systems engineering team defining the next generation of space communication systems supporting U.S. Space Force (USSF) satellite communications. You will support Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) activities in a multidisciplinary and collaborative environment.

In this role, you will collaborate with SE&I team members, contractors, government civilians, and members of the USSF to design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and efficient DevOps pipelines and infrastructure. You will also lead and support several working groups responsible for driving technical discussions, resolving risks and requirement gaps, developing briefings, tracking action items, and authoring meeting minutes. This position is in El Segundo, CA.

Key Responsibilities:

  Maintain and enhance helm charts for deployment of Docker-based microservices.

  Help with release management and deployment of microservices in a Kubernetes environment (AWS EKS, Azure AKS).

  Help with vulnerability assessments, security monitoring, and incident response automation.

• n

  Work with developers to implement secure coding practices and application security testing.

• n

  Deploy DevOps practices for automating the software engineering practices across multiple projects.

• n

  Ensure we have solid, foundational processes in place. The design decisions you will make in this position will have a direct and lasting impact on the success of the entire software team and organization.

  The DevOps Engineer will work directly with internal and external stakeholders to understand evolving requirements and identify key technologies and architecture design patterns used by the team.

  Stand up agile development teams and will oversee the instantiation of DevOps pipelines in both on-prem and cloud environments.

Qualifications

Experience and Education:

n
• n

  BS degree in Computer Science or Information Systems; other degrees will be considered with relevant work experience. Min. 5 years of overall experience.

  n

• n

  7 years of DevOps software development and infrastructure design.

  n
n
• n

  Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

  n
n
• n

  Ability to design, implement, and manage secure cloud infrastructure solutions (AWS, Azure).

  n
n
• n

  Proficiency in maintaining CI/CD pipelines with security best practices (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD).

  n
n
• n

  Help with release management and deployment of microservices in a Kubernetes environment (AWS EKS, Azure AKS).

• n

  Strong knowledge of Helm charts for deployment of Docker-based microservices.

  n
n
• n

  Knowledge of logging, monitoring, and alerting capabilities using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, or ELK Stack.

Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
