Description

We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist with proven experience in leading technical projects, analyzing data, and communicating insights to senior leadership to facilitate data-driven decision making. This role collaborates closely with business and product teams across ASE, focusing on:

1. Performing exploratory data analyses and applying statistical techniques to identify opportunities and formulate new questions.
2. Developing narratives around iCloud performance by highlighting key insights and creating scalable summaries of complex data.
3. Partnering with Data Engineering to define metrics and instrumentation for measuring efforts.
4. Communicating insights effectively to engineers, managers, and executives to influence strategic decisions.
5. Extracting information from both structured and unstructured data sources.
6. Planning, designing, and analyzing A/B tests or experiments.
7. Building models for forecasting growth and capacity requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

• 6+ years in data analytics or data science roles (4+ years specifically in data science).
• Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying technical concepts to senior audiences.
• Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language (e.g., Python, R, Scala), with experience in collaborative coding environments (git, notebooks).
• Strong understanding of statistical distributions and analytical techniques to identify patterns and sources of variance.
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Superset, ggplot) for effective communication.
• Experience engineering insights from large, complex datasets using tools like Hive, Spark, Druid.
• Self-motivated, curious, with strong creative and critical thinking skills and a drive for process improvement.
• High tolerance for ambiguity, with the ability to anticipate, connect, and synthesize information.

Preferred Qualifications

• Academic background in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, Physics, or related fields; advanced degree preferred.
