Senior Civil/Structural Engineer for Substation Projects

We are looking for a Licensed Senior Civil/Structural Engineer with over 5 years of experience in the utility industry, preferably with a background in design engineering and reviews. The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational foundation in the design of steel and concrete structures, geotechnical engineering, and foundations. Experience in reviewing substation structure designs, rigid bus designs, foundation designs, oil spill containment designs, retaining walls, masonry control shelters, and firewalls is essential.

This role involves leading projects, conducting design reviews, and mentoring junior staff. You will be expected to perform design evaluations to support bid and construction packages for substation projects and participate in site visits to client facilities. Some travel for client meetings and industry events may also be required.

You will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with quality control, safety practices, and project timelines and budgets. As a senior member of our design team, you will collaborate with engineers, designers, and drafting technicians to ensure project success.

Qualifications

• PE License Required in California, Washington, Oregon -OR- the ability to obtain licensure in these states within 3-12 months.
• SE licensure is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MATHCAD software is required.
• Experience with RISA 3-D, FAD, SAG10, and LPILE software is required.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and MicroStation is required.
• Strong analytical and technical writing skills are a must.
• Must be a team player with excellent communication skills to interact with clients and staff.

Work Location: Portland, OR (All qualified candidates located in the western U.S will be considered for remote work. Preference is for candidates to reside in the Pacific or Mountain time zone.)

Pay Range: $72,150.00 - $130,425.00. This pay range is a guideline and not a guarantee of compensation. Factors considered in extending an offer include job responsibilities, education, experience, and skills.
