Senior Associate, Cyber Product Owner (Cloud Platform Security)

Overview

Senior Associate, Cyber Product Owner (Cloud Platform Security) – Capital One. Capital One is seeking a product owner to help deliver cybersecurity solutions based on threat, data, and design thinking. The role supports the Cloud Platform Security service area and contributes to the strategic agenda for core cyber products, translating vision into delivery objectives and guiding cross-functional teams to deliver features with customer-informed value.

What you’ll do

• Communicate the delivery roadmap to technology teams by inspiring the team through the product vision
• Articulate target persona, customer benefit, and value of features across teams
• Leverage technical knowledge to support engineering teams in delivering value
• Represent the voice of the customer using cybersecurity background and insights
• Incorporate design thinking and analytics to inform product design
• Participate in research or design sessions for new features
• Develop and maintain a healthy product backlog with Product Manager, Engineering, and Solution Architects
• Lead backlog refinement sessions and ensure requirements are understood by engineering teams
• Prioritize the product backlog to maximize business and customer outcomes while considering cyber and operational risk
• Act as a technical advisor to product managers, engineers, and stakeholders
• Collaborate across cross-functional teams and participate in Agile/SAFe ceremonies
• Support teams in escalating and resolving impediments
• Drive performance and innovation with data-driven insights
• Identify opportunities when security, resilience, or performance metrics indicate gaps
• Maintain technical and risk credibility with teams and partners

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
• At least 1.5 years of experience in cybersecurity or information technology
• At least 1 year of experience in product management
• At least 1 year of experience in project management

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity, Systems Engineering, or Computer Science
• 2+ years solving cyber technical challenges
• 2+ years translating business strategy into product development
• 1+ years of Cyber product owner experience
• 1+ years of technical writing
• 1+ years of stakeholder management
• 1+ years of hands-on JIRA experience
• Experience in regulated financial services or tech companies
• 1+ professional certifications (SAFe PM/PO, CISSP, GIAC, CISM, CCSP, AWS Cloud Practitioner, AWS Security)
