Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant is responsible for preparing consolidated internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and various departments. This role involves preparing general ledger entries, maintaining records and files, and reconciling accounts. The Senior Accountant will also prepare payments by accruing expenses, assigning account numbers, and requesting disbursements.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures and recommending changes.
• Maintain the Fixed Asset and associated depreciation schedules.
• Analyze actual manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports comparing budget costs to actual production costs, including product margin reporting and analytics.
• Research and explain variances.
• Prepare month-end analysis of manufacturing productivity and variances.
• Reconcile and invoice the installations and services upon completion.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Knowledge of month-end close processes and manufacturing environments.
• General knowledge in cost and inventory management.
• Previous knowledge of manufacturing software and current working knowledge of cost accounting, bills of materials, routers, inventory flow, and variance generation.
• Experience with physical or cycle count inventory audit and documentation.
• At least 3 years of experience as a General Ledger Accountant in manufacturing industry.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and general accounting.
• Experience preparing financial statements and coursework in job costing is recommended.

Work Environment:

The Senior Accountant will assist with the preparation of monthly financial analysis reports, develop and maintain department budgets, and generate cost reports. You will be the first point of contact for accounting issues, analyze actual cost and manufacturing variance, and prepare and submit month-end journal entries related to industrial activities and reconciliations.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plano, TX.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
