Accounting Manager, Service Company (110K-120K+Bonus)

Overview

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking an Accounting Manager for a client in the construction and service industry. This role is responsible for overseeing project-based billing, revenue recognition, G&A accounting, and accurate financial reporting while partnering closely with project managers, the data/ERP team, and leadership to ensure system accuracy and compliance.

This position pays 110K-120K+Bonus and offers flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Oversee project-based billing processes within the ERP system, ensuring accuracy and compliance with contract terms.
• Manage revenue recognition, including percentage-of-completion calculations in line with GAAP.
• Handle G&A accounting activities, including payables, reconciliations, and general ledger entries.
• Partner with operations and project managers to ensure accurate coding, job costing, and financial tracking.
• Prepare month-end and year-end journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
• Provide leadership with reporting and analysis to support decisions related to project profitability and cash flow.
• Collaborate with the data/ERP team to maintain system integrity, improve workflows, and resolve issues.
• Support audit preparation and ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.
• Recommend process improvements to strengthen accounting efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/CMA preferred).
• At least 4 years of progressive accounting experience, with exposure to project accounting, revenue recognition, and G&A functions.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and experience with percentage-of-completion accounting.
• Hands-on use of ERP/accounting systems such as Aspire, NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle.
• Background in construction, manufacturing, or project-based service industries.
