What you'll do:
As a Senior Accountant you'll be responsible for assisting with the accounting and financial reporting of the Company. You'll primary focus on preparing and maintaining regulatory reports filed with the Federal Reserve and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency(OCC). As a Senior Accountant, you'll ensures compliance with SOX, all policies, procedures, as well as all applicable state and federal banking regulations.

• Assist with the implementation of new regulatory reporting software and with Large Financial Institution Readiness (LFI). Work closely with the Financial Reporting Manager to complete all regulatory reports with regularity. This will include variance analysis with explanations, and reconciliations between the general ledger and various reporting systems.
• Maintain accurate desktop procedures to ensure accuracy and alignment with current practices.
• Participate in the Quality Assurance process for in scope regulatory reports, including preparing and maintaining narrative documents, attestation packages, and certifications. Perform walkthroughs with the business lines and data providers to ensure conformity with report instructions. Assist in accounting and reporting for complex transactions such as loan sales, acquisitions, and disposals, goodwill impairment valuations, and other transactions that require research and analysis.
• Provide support to all assigned areas in the Accounting Department where service or assistance is needed. Guide and train junior staff as required or assigned.
• Contribute to interpretation and implementation of accounting pronouncement and regulatory reporting changes. Interface with management, external auditors and regulatory agencies.

What you'll need:

• 5+ years of related experience in Accounting, Finance (GL Mgmt., Public Reporting, Analysis) or similar field.
• Bachelor's degree in related field required; Masters or MBA in related field preferred.
• Intermediate to advanced analytical and organizational skills.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
• Intermediate to advanced accounting experience with progressively increased responsibility, preferably within a financial services firm.
• Intermediate to advanced thorough understanding of GAAP.
• Intermediate speaking and writing communication skills.
• Certified Public Accountant preferred.
