Security Operations Specialist

As a part of our Assets Protection team, you'll contribute to a safe and secure environment for our team members and guests, while also helping to meet financial goals related to shortage and profitability. Your efforts will help us maintain a strong physical security and safety culture by responding to incidents, investigating theft, and educating team members about operational priorities.

This role offers you the opportunity to:

• Develop skills using intelligence-led strategies to ensure safety for team members and guests
• Gain experience in crisis response, safety management, and crowd control
• Master de-escalation techniques and recover stolen merchandise to prevent loss
• Effectively utilize Target's advanced video surveillance system
• Document cases through industry-standard case management systems

As a Security Operations Specialist, your daily responsibilities will include:

• Welcoming and engaging guests and team members at the front of the store and throughout the sales floor
• Leading a culture of safety by assessing and maintaining secure standards across the store, including exterior areas
• Responding to and documenting security incidents accurately
• Utilizing escalation tools to address guest issues and ensure a safe shopping environment
• Conducting merchandise recoveries and providing apprehension support while adhering to policies
• Preventing theft through proactive measures, such as receipt checks on high-value items
• Submitting thorough documentation for all incidents per AP policies
• Using video systems effectively for security monitoring
• Training team members on merchandise protection and executing audit tasks
• Implementing shortage action plans set forth by leadership to minimize inventory loss
• Modeling safe working practices and maintaining a neat store atmosphere
• Providing exceptional service that aligns with guests' needs
• Exemplifying a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance
• Performing additional duties as required by business needs

While we provide comprehensive training to equip you for success as a Security Operations Specialist, there are a few essential skills we’re looking for:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be at least 18 years of age

• Able to learn and adapt to current technological needs
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively alongside a team
• Manage tasks efficiently and independently
