Job Description

As a Security Guard - Armed Patrol Facility Government in Washington, DC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more.

As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned government locations, helping to deter security-related incidents and maintaining a visible presence. You will conduct routine patrols, engage with visitors and staff, and provide outstanding customer service while upholding our values of agility, reliability, and innovation. Pay Rate: $31.83 / Hour

What You'll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential issues.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and sensitive areas to help to deter unauthorized access and maintain a visible presence.
• Interact professionally with the public, staff, and visitors while upholding site-specific protocols.
• Complete daily activity reports and incident documentation as required by Allied Universal and the client site.
• Remain alert and observant throughout the shift, maintaining awareness of surroundings and reporting any unusual activity or security-related concerns.
• Follow all company and site-specific guidelines regarding the carrying and use of authorized firearms in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess an active armed guard card or license.
• Possess a valid firearms permit.
• Possess a handcuffing certification.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
