E.L. Harvey & Sons is actively seeking a qualified Diesel Technician .

This position is located in New Bedford, MA .

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 2:00 PM to 12:00 AM, with Saturdays as needed.

Compensation: Based on Experience

As a vital member of our automotive maintenance team, you will play a key role in ensuring the optimal performance of our transportation and handling equipment. Your responsibilities will include inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing electrical systems, hydraulics, suspension, brakes, and air systems on various vehicles and equipment.

Your Responsibilities Include:

• Utilizing vehicle computer electronic systems to initiate or assign necessary repairs while interpreting failure modes.

• Completing required paperwork using our fleet maintenance software for vehicle repairs, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair time.

• Reviewing and managing repairs indicated on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.

• Conducting thorough safety checks on all vehicles and equipment.

• Performing service calls in response to emergency breakdowns.

• Maintaining a clean and safe work environment in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.

Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of proven experience in diesel mechanics.

• Flexibility to adapt to various work environments.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.

• Experience in welding or fabrication is a significant plus.
