Bookkeeper/Project Accountant

GPAC is currently assisting a growing and stable client with their search for a Bookkeeper/Project Accountant. This individual will be responsible for accounting operations and more within the company.

Bookkeeper/Accountant Responsibilities:

• Planning, directing, and coordinating accounting operational functions
• Annual budgeting and forecasting
• Month end closing responsibilities
• Preparation of financial statements
• Work with auditors
• Work closely with leadership team
• Ensure compliance

Bookkeeper/Accountant Background Requirements:

• B.S. degree in accounting, finance, or related field, OR
• Credentials of a CPA (preferred)
• Minimum of three years of accounting experience
• Experience working in Construction world is preferred
• Strong financial management and business acumen
• Current experience in Quickbooks desktopnot online
• Texas Sales Taxunderstanding how to charge customers and filing the reports online with the Comptroller
• Paychex payroll experience
• An understanding of AIA pay applications and Cost Accounting
• Competence in reading and understanding financial statements: Profit and Loss and Balance sheetA/R and A/P experience
• Ability and willingness to follow directions
• Gets along well with others and has a pleasant demeanor
• The company needs someone who is organized, stays organized and doesn't work in a "mess"
