Our Honeybee Robotics team in Altadena is seeking candidates to join our cooperative education program with a focus on mechanical or electrical engineering. In the role, your daily responsibilities will involve actively supporting the design, development, fabrication, and testing of various mechanical, electromechanical, and/or electrical systems. You will have the opportunity to learn through hands-on experience and make a tangible, positive contribution to our technology development efforts.

• This is a ~6 month co-op from January to June 2026.

Responsibilities:

• Support systems design, development, fabrication, and testing of various mechanical and/or electrical systems.
• Embrace a hands-on learning approach and aspire to make a meaningful and impactful contribution to product development.
• Draft, update, and procure with technical documents (mechanical part drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, etc).
• Original part design and/or selection of commercially available off-the-shelf (COTS) components.

Minimum qualifications:

• To qualify for this position, you must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program, preferably in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience working with hardware: mechanical assembly, electrical workmanship (soldering, crimping), etc.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, etc).
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired qualifications:

• Completion of a course or experience in one or more of the following areas: Strength of Materials, Statics/Dynamics, Microcontroller Programming, Fundamentals of Analog Electronics, Basic Control Theory, Digital Circuit Design, Motor Control.
