Ride Controls Hardware Engineer

Trillium Professional is seeking a Ride Controls Hardware Engineer for a direct-hire position in Calabasas.

Annual salary ranges from $100K to $150K, depending on experience.

Position Summary:

• Define, analyze, and validate deterministic solutions for large-scale, fail-safe motion control systems.
• Specify, design, and implement operator-intensive, safety-critical control software using real-time operating systems.
• Install, integrate, and test high-capacity, man-rated control systems domestically and overseas.

Qualifications:

Required Experience:

• Ability to Travel (approximately 25% of the time, including some long durations up to 9 months)
• Proficient with NEC 70 Code
• Proficient with UL508A Standard
• Strong analytical skills
• Physics knowledge, including motion equations and dynamics
• Persistent "What If" thinker supported by physics, math, and diagramming
• Strong initiative and self-motivation
• Effective verbal communication skills
• Strong technical writing ability
• Ability to lead and follow within a team
• Experience reviewing software documentation and mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic schematics

Additionally, more than 5 years of experience requires:

• Proven leadership
• Real-time control experience ensuring deterministic systems
• Fail-safe control experience with safety timing analysis
• Equipment control experience (motors, drives, sensors, effectors, servos)
• Troubleshooting skills
• Proven multitasking ability
• Demonstrated innovation
• Ability to handle demanding, stressful assignments

Desired Experience:

• Minimum 8 years of ride control and/or theme park experience
• Knowledge of industry standards
• Experience with rapid or agile development techniques
• Experience with configuration management and version control tools
• Proficiency in UML and SysML
• Proficiency in Matlab
• Experience with safety PLCs and HMIs, such as Allen Bradley ControlLogix or Siemens SIMATIC
• Understanding of control theory

Education:

• Bachelor's degree (B.S. or B.A.) in Science, Engineering, or Math from an accredited institution; double major or minor preferred
• Some coursework in physics required; coursework in computer science, engineering, control systems preferred
