Traveling Position - Seeking Candidates
A Retail Store Display Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the operations and setup of new and renovated stores. This position involves working individually or as part of a team to ensure projects are completed effectively and efficiently. Candidates should be located in the New York area and be able to travel extensively to project sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in various store projects including renovations, new store openings, relocations, and expansions.
- Ensure that all project activities meet company standards and deadlines.
- Tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Product merchandising and placement
- Unloading and organizing merchandise
- Building and dismantling fixtures
- Setting schematics and merchandise templates
- Maintaining cleanliness
- Providing excellent customer service
- Completing additional tasks as assigned by supervisors
- Assist with day-to-day operations related to store projects as directed.
- Communicate effectively with team members and store coordinators to ensure smooth operations.
- Support the Store Display Coordinator and other team members as needed.
- Maintain a safe working environment and implement best practices on job sites.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
Travel Requirements:
- Must be able to travel up to 100% of the time for project locations, including overnight stays.
- Willingness to work project schedules that may include 14 consecutive days.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
- Flexibility to work non-traditional hours is necessary.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
- Ability to climb, walk, and stand for extended periods.
Essential Skills:
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to adapt in a dynamic, fast-paced retail environment.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to multitask.
- Knowledge of merchandising and sequencing is preferred.
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze situations and provide solutions.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships at all levels.
- Capacity to manage personal and company expenses related to travel.
Equipment Requirements:
- Ability to operate small power tools.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Preferred: High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience, ideally in the retail sector.
- Experience in retail store management is advantageous.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook; ability to learn new software quickly.
This is a full-time role based at 1516 Ridge Road West, Rochester, New York with Dollar Tree.
