The Respiratory Therapist provides direct respiratory care to patients in all areas of the hospital as outlined in Pulmonary Services procedure manual. Is knowledgeable in providing and evaluating the routine as well as critical care modes of respiratory care. Responsible for the effective and optimal administration of modalities based on assessment and evaluation. Provides recommendations and/or changes to care based on the patients current status.

Incorporates patient, physician, customer needs and concerns into decision-making and organizational action.

Respond to emergency situations immediately, perform appropriate patient assessment and intervention and replace emergency supplies in a timely manner.

Demonstrate understanding of Code Blue and Rapid Response procedures.

Assures code blue intubation and blade boxes are checked daily and after use.

Assures mandatory hospital and department competencies are done annually in a timely manner.

The expertise and experiences youll need to succeed:

• Associate Required
• 1 year of Experience Required
• RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist Required
• BCLS - Basic Life Support obtained through the American Heart Association Required
• CRT - Certified Respiratory Therapist Required
