Radiology Technician

Baptist Health Urgent Care is seeking committed and caring ARRT Radiology or Limited License X-Ray Technicians to become part of our dynamic healthcare team.

Baptist Health Urgent Care has expanded to 23 locations across Arkansas and is a proud affiliate of Urgent Team, one of the largest independent operators of urgent and family care centers in the Southeast. We strive to provide quality and affordable family healthcare across our network of over 80 locations.

Our convenient, walk-in centers offer a variety of healthcare services, including treatments for injuries and illnesses, occupational health, and wellness care. Our centers operate seven days a week with comprehensive hours: Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Notably, our Fort Smith-Northside location also operates Saturdays and Sundays from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. All Baptist Health Urgent Care centers are Accredited Care Centers, acknowledging our commitment to safety, quality, and service scope.

JOB SUMMARY:
As a Radiology Technician, you will perform essential x-ray testing while employing your knowledge of anatomy and physiology for effective patient care. You will operate diagnostic equipment, develop films, and prepare rooms with the necessary supplies for procedures, while also performing Medical Assistant tasks. Full-time team members will follow a rotating 36-40 hour/week schedule with 12-hour shifts and every-other weekend. Our PRN (per diem) team members will work as needed.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Greet patients promptly as they enter the waiting area, exam room, or x-ray room.
• Maintain open communication with patients regarding wait times and direct them through the treatment process.
• Provide solutions to patient inquiries and identify emergency situations for proper assistance.
• Execute follow-up calls with urgency and professionalism.
• Assist front desk personnel with patient check-in/out when needed.
• Accurately document patient vital signs, weight, and pertinent health history.
• Support patient transfers and assist in procedures under the supervision of providers.
• Ensure timely execution of radiology procedures for evaluation and treatment by physicians.
• Conduct quality control measures to guarantee optimal exam outcomes.
• Prepare patients for radiologic procedures while adhering to safety and care standards.
• Check that all equipment functions properly and report any issues to the Manager or supervising provider.
• Engage in continuous learning to enhance diagnostic imaging skills.
• Maintain active licensure and certifications related to facility radiology equipment.

WHAT'S REQUIRED?
High school diploma or equivalent, BLS Certification, AR State X-Ray License, ARRT Certification preferred, and experience as a Medical Assistant is a plus.
