About The Position
Job Title: Registered Radiology Technologist Profession: Radiology / Cardiology Specialty: X-Ray Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years related experience as a Radiologic Technologist License: State Radiology License Certifications: ARRT, current CPR Must-Have: Experience in surgery with C-arm and O-arm equipment. Experience with outpatient, inpatient, and emergency examinations using general X-ray equipment. Description: The Registered Radiology Technologist is responsible for providing quality imaging of patients to aid in diagnosis and continuity of care. The Technologist assists radiologists during examinations. This position requires effective communication skills, both oral and written. The ability to solve problems and make decisions is essential. Physical demands include standing, walking, bending, squatting, twisting, and occasionally lifting up to 100 pounds with proper body mechanics. The role necessitates spending eight or more hours performing radiology exams in various settings. A keen sense of hearing and visual acuity is important for this position. The Technologist must manage critical and stressful situations efficiently. This position involves working in a hospital setting that operates 24/7. Daily patient interactions may include a variety of age groups, from infants to geriatrics. The department typically performs 350 exams daily, with an interdisciplinary support team available. Special procedures include fluoroscopy exams, surgery exams, emergency room exams, inpatient exams, and outpatient exams. Equipment used includes general X-ray equipment, fluoroscopy equipment, and portable imaging devices.
