Quality Inspector - Metal Finishing

Job Opportunity: Ravenna, Ohio
Our client is looking for a Quality Inspector to join their Metal Finishing team. Our client is an industry leader in the production of fluid system components, metal finishing processing, and verification testing.
The Quality Inspector will be responsible for inspecting metallic parts, such as machined extrusions, tubing, or castings, for conformance to standards and specifications: reading and interpreting inspection manuals, blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine inspection methods and procedures, allowable tolerances, and required tests.
Job Requirements
Requirements/Qualifications:
- 1+ years exp. in quality machinery/machine parts inspection. Aerospace inspection is a plus.
- Knowledge and ability to read/interpret machine drawings and blueprints.
- Ability to use basic inspection gages such as calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, indicators, height gages, thread gages, and others.
- Basic Knowledge of gage calibration is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of GD & T requirements.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Visually examining products and materials against blueprints and specifications to identify defects, inconsistencies, or deviations from standards.
- Inspecting for results or effects of processes, i.e., anodized, chemical film, phosphate, passivation, and painted surfaces as well as sub-processes such as abrasive cleaning and blasting.
- Examining processed parts per sampling methods for conformance, defects, and workmanship, along with cosmetic factors.
- Operating a tow motor or hand truck to move parts and/or chemicals.
- Using calipers, gauges, micrometers, and other equipment to accurately measure product dimensions and attributes.
- Documenting inspection results, including details of defects, non-compliance issues, and corrective actions taken.
- Maintaining and calibrating inspection equipment to ensure accuracy.
- Ensuring adherence to company quality standards, industry regulations, and quality management systems.
- Verify certification packages to requirements.
