Project Manager II

The Project Manager II role encompasses working across three locations: Prairie Island, Monticello, and the Corporate office. The position is integral to solidifying long-term plans, enhancing project estimates, deploying individuals to projects, and managing license extensions from 60 to 80 years. This role requires U.S. citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with stakeholders on-site and interface with the maintenance organization and engineering department to implement projects.
• Conduct weekly meetings, coordinate project activities, source vendors, and initiate and manage contracts.
• Monitor financials, escalate concerns, and ensure adherence to project scope, schedule, and budget.
• Engage in risk management and present proposals to gain necessary approvals for authorization.
• Conduct field/plant observations and collaborate with internal stakeholders.

Essential Skills

• 5-7 years of cradle-to-grave project management experience.
• Experience managing projects with a budget of at least $1 million.
• Nuclear is strongly preferred.
• Mechanical/Electrical Engineering is preferred.
• Civil or construction experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with SAP, Unifier, UKG Workday, MS Project, and P6/Primavera.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• ABET accreditation is desirable.
• Finance is beneficial.
• Ex-Navy (submarine/navy) nuclear experience is preferred if no commercial experience.
• PMP certification is strongly preferred.
• SRO certification or license from a plant knowledge perspective is beneficial.

Work Environment

The role supports a large team of 32 people, including the maintenance organization, engineering department, controls group, finance organization, leaders, internal supply department, and external vendors. It offers a highly supportive and collaborative work environment. The position involves desk work with field/plant visits for observation. Regular work hours apply, but during outages, a minimum of 60 hours per week is expected, with 12-hour days, 6-7 days per week. The environment is dynamic with exposure to leadership, flexibility in work arrangements, and access to the latest tools and technologies.

This is a Contract position based out of Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $65.00/hr.
