Project Engineer - Infrastructure Construction
Are you passionate about shaping the future of infrastructure projects? Kiewit is seeking an early to mid-level Project Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Project Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in supporting multiple projects by providing expertise in scheduling, contract administration, and cost controls.
Kiewit's Northern California District is one of Kiewit's leading infrastructure districts specializing in various types of work in the heavy civil, power, transportation, and water resource markets. Although most of our work is regionally based in Northern California, we also pursue various projects across the west coast. Our Northern California district has been extremely successful and have over $600 million dollars of work and plan to grow this region by $200 million in 2022. Our Project Engineering team is headquartered out of our office in Fairfield, CA. There may be some travel to our other project sites in the Bay Area.
Responsibilities include: reading and understanding plans and specifications, visualizing two-dimensional drawings in three dimensions, examining/inspecting field conditions and identifying problems, inaccuracies, and cost saving measures, assisting with the development and maintenance of the project master schedule, assisting with completing monthly Time Impact Analysis' (TIAs), assisting projects with compiling and management of short-term schedule development and reporting, reviewing new issue drawings and contract documents for change of conditions, assisting in the tracking of project change orders and development of projections, completing progress and quantity audits, producing monthly reports on schedule and cost progress, trends, and forecasts, understanding company and project quality control and quality assurance procedures, assisting project managers with development of project procedures, and traveling to jobsites as necessary.
Qualifications include: 2+ years' experience in Project Controls/Project Engineering, knowledge of project management software such as Microsoft Office Suite and Primavera, experience utilizing SAP is preferred, but not required, experience performing Monthly Schedule Updates and Time Impact Analysis', ability to analyze project data and provide summary level project reports for management, ability to travel, ability to read, analyze and identify discrepancies on engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents, highly motivated, strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals and objectives, strong organization, time management, and attention to detail, strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time, and demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity.
Other requirements include: regular, reliable attendance, work productively and meet deadlines timely, communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment, perform work safely and effectively, understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies, work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines, work overtime and weekends as required. Base Compensation: $95000 - $115000 (Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location).
