Location: Canoga Park, CA. Schedule: 9/80 work 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours with every other Friday off.

The Aerojet Rocketdyne Segment of L3Harris is seeking an experienced Sr. Associate, Project and Component Engineer to support multiple phases of development or production propulsion programs. The role collaborates with engineering, operations, quality and supply chain functions to ensure successful component completion.

This position is located at our Missile Solutions facility in Canoga Park, CA.

Essential Functions

• Under supervision, determine approaches to objectives with a solid understanding of engineering principles, concepts, and practices.
• Development and fabrication support of rocket engine components; translate concepts from preliminary ideas through product life cycle.
• Supplier integration with external suppliers to meet requirements on time and within budget.
• Interface with project teams, management and technical staff to coordinate technical, schedule and cost solutions.
• Analyze and verify product design and performance for adequacy and reliability; support investigation and resolution of hardware and process issues.
• Develop specifications, trade studies, design concepts, systems integration and component-level test plans.
• Up to 10% travel to suppliers and other production sites.
• Position may require extended hours to meet business objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of related Mechanical Engineering experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of related experience. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 6 years of related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills

• Familiarity with design, manufacturing, or testing of valves, pressure regulators, tanks, transducers, etc.
• Experience with Microsoft Office products (Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Engineering drawing and GD&T application experience.
• Ability to read technical drawings and specifications; working knowledge of production systems/methods and lean manufacturing principles.
• Familiarity with manufacturing principles and fabrication processes.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Project Engineering.
• Experience in the defense industry; existing security clearance is a plus.
• Experience with CAD tools (CREO) and PLM systems (Windchill) is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range in California is $79,000 - $146,500. Final offer amount may vary based on experience and location.
