We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Assistant Production Manager to support and coordinate daily manufacturing operations in a lean, fast-paced composite production environment. The ideal candidate will be a leader who is comfortable working directly with production equipment and operators, capable of managing resources, resolving issues, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the shop floor.

  Assist with daily production planning and execution to ensure workflow efficiency and alignment with delivery targets.

  Monitor production status, coordinate personnel and material readiness, and help prioritize tasks on the floor.

  Provide hands-on support to resolve process or equipment issues in real-time.

• n

  Supervise and guide operators and technicians, ensuring consistent adherence to work procedures and product quality standards.

• n

  Support onboarding, training, and skills development for production staff.

  n
n
• n

  Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

• n

  Learn and provide backup support for process engineering activities, including managing Bills of Materials (BOM) and production routers.

• n

  Understand and apply principles of Design of Experiments (DOE) to support process optimization and troubleshooting.

• n

  Navigate the ERP system effectively to retrieve, analyze, and utilize key production and operational data.

  n

• n

  Coordinate with maintenance and technical teams on basic troubleshooting and preventive maintenance planning.

  n

• n

  Lead implementation and execution of EHS programs, including conducting Gemba walks and facilitating safety meetings.

• n

  Champion a proactive safety culture through direct involvement and visible leadership.

• n

  Interface with planning, engineering, quality, and warehouse teams to support smooth production handoffs.

  Maintain accurate production records, shift logs, and downtime reporting.

• n

  Track and report key metrics such as output and scrap, and analyze trends to identify areas for corrective or preventive action.

Essential Skills

n
• n

  Engineering Degree (REQUIRED)

• n

  4–6 years of hands-on manufacturing experience, including 1–2 years in a supervisory or lead capacity.

• n

  Exposure to composites or technical materials or high-mix production environments preferred.

  n
n
• n

  Strong mechanical aptitude and capability to learn and support equipment troubleshooting.

  n
n
• n

  Understanding of Quality Management Systems, specifically ISO-9001 is preferred.

  n
n
• n

  Effective communicator with strong team leadership and coordination skills.

  n
n

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• n

  Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or related technical field preferred.

• n

  Working knowledge of thermoplastics compounding, lamination, composites cutting, and thermal forming/injection molding processes is a plus.

  n

• n

  Proactive and organized with the ability to manage day-to-day details while supporting long-term improvements.

• n

  Familiarity with lean manufacturing, 5S, or structured problem-solving methods is a plus.

• n

  Proficient in Microsoft Office; basic ERP or MES system experience preferred.

n

Work Environment

This role is set in a dynamic environment with 50 employees and a brand-new automation line. The company offers a global presence, with opportunities for travel. The environment is fast-paced, requiring flexibility and adaptability to fluid roles.
