nWhat you’ll be doing…
nAs a Principal Engineer , you will create client solutions based on business requirements involving advanced networks, data center, security, and virtualization technologies; as well as development of fault and performance management policies and automation rules. Responsible for proactive client engagement at all client levels, technology lifecycle development, and planning & coordination with various internal/external stakeholders. Role will support standard and custom solution development initiatives and network management device and application certification for Managed Services solutions and clients. Close collaboration with Engineering/Planning, IT, Product Development, and various Verizon and external delivery and support teams to manage the design and implementation of client projects.

Provide mentoring, technical training and support for the Lifecycle Engineering and Implementation Engineering teams.

Design, implement, and support solutions involving, but not limited to, WAN, LAN, WLAN, VoIP, Data Analytics, Security and Virtual (e.g.; Virtualization, SDN, NFV) technologies.

Analyze, evaluate and communicate network capacity and performance data with the objective of driving improvements to customer's network.

Responsible for matrix supervision of a team for specific projects, resource management, process documentation, and peer mentoring.
n -
Responsible for overseeing customer network documentation such as solution design document, record of change, and network diagrams.
n -
Provide 4th level incident support for customers.
n -
Responsible for presentations and demonstrations related to technology, process, or client solutions.
n -
Requires ownership of design and critical issues, creative thinking, and problem resolution skills.
n -
Position may require after hours support.

You have a thorough working knowledge of the following technologies:

Routing protocols (BGP, OSPF,OMP, Static Routes, Policy Routing, Route redistribution)

Switching (Spanning-Tree, VLANs, Trunking, EtherChannel)

QoS (Traffic Shaping, Route-maps, etc.)

Security (AAA configuration, Certificates, Network Address Translation (NAT),Access Control Lists (ACLs), VRF segmentation)
n -
Cisco SDWAN (Topology Build, Template Creation, HA Configuration, SDWAN DIA Concepts - Guest Service, Direct Internet Service, Cloud Services, etc.)
n -
Wireless/Wifi (WAPS, Wireless Controllers (WLCs), Wireless site surveys, heat map generation)
n -
WAN Technologies (MPLS, Broadband, Wireless/5G/LTE/FWA/CradlePoint, Satellite ( StarLink))
n -
VoIP (IP Phones, Gateways, ATAs)
n -
Cloud (Secure Cloud Interconnect (SCI), Software Defined Interconnect (SDI), SDWAN Cloud Onramp)

Network Troubleshooting

Responsible for the protection of Verizon customer proprietary network information and Verizon information assets.

What we’re looking for...
nYou’re a technical expert with experience managing multiple medium to large projects at once. Cross-functional work is ideal for you, given your collaborative nature and ability to work with a variety of stakeholders across the organization. You have experience and knowledge in scripting and automation and have a knack for using these abilities to increase efficiency within a production environment. You will have a strong, customer centric voice in assisting with as well as implementing our strategic roadmap.
nYou’ll need to have:

Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
n -
Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

Degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, or Technology related field.
n -
Ability to lead and drive projects to completion and balance multiple work assignments simultaneously.
n -
Critical thinking, problem solving abilities, and decision-making skills.
n -
Ability to lead technical discussions with a group of individuals in the industry with varying technical positions.
n -
Ability to work well both independently and in diverse teams.
n

nIn this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes working from home and a minimum of three days per week in the office, which will be set by your manager. Employees are responsible for maintaining compliance with hybrid work policies.
