This job posting is for a part-time Psychiatrist to cover patients in NY, with private practice in Psychiatry & Geriatric Psychiatry seeking a Psychiatrist or Geriatric Psychiatrist to join its team. Licensed PGY-4s and Fellows eligible for moonlighting in their spare time are welcome to apply. The practice offers a holistic approach to therapy and medication management for a diverse patient population, including high-functioning patients, families, and facilities needing therapy, counseling, and medication management.

Overview

Location: Manhattan, NY and other offices; private practice with no income cap and potential for practice partnership. Flexible scheduling within a collaborative, supportive team. We do not participate with or depend on Managed Care.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, and supportive therapy.
• Treat anxiety and depression, perform psychotherapy, and manage psychopharmacology, including motivation sessions, life coaching, stress relief, and CBT when appropriate.
• Address stress-related physical or emotional symptoms, insomnia, PMS, and provide grief, weight management, and substance-use cessation support.
• Memory and dementia evaluations, competency evaluations, and private care of patients at Assisted Living, Independent Living, and Nursing Home facilities.
• Support a holistic mind-and-body approach, incorporating complementary modalities as appropriate.

Qualifications

• Licensed Psychiatrist (NY).
• Eligible for moonlighting: PGY-4 residents and fellows in good standing may apply.
• Experience in private practice or healthcare teams is advantageous, with strong communication and collaborative care skills.

Compensation & Schedule

• Position is productive-based (not a salaried role). Compensation is a share of fees collected for services performed and billed by the practice, with approximately 50% of fees paid to the physician as compensation.
• Employment models include W-2 employees or Partners. Payroll is biweekly with direct deposit and standard tax withholding.

Our practice is located 22 miles from Newark Liberty International Airport, in Bergen County, NJ, with additional offices in Manhattan, NY. The NJ location offers access to safe, family-friendly communities with strong amenities and is within close proximity to NYC.
