Physician - Gastroenterology Colorado Springs

Summary: Penrose Main Hospital and St. Francis hospital are looking for a locum Gastroenterology Hospitalists to help provide locum call coverage at the facilities concurrently. The site has a designated "backup" physician should another call come in at the other facility while working a call at the other facility.

Rate Caps for Submission:
Malpractice - Must be included in rates.

Preferred Lodging: none. In the event that the CommonSpirit Health preferred hotel is not available, hotel/lodging rates will be reimbursed based on actual expense, up to 1.5 times the current GSA rate for the market.

What is the patient census/caseload? Average daily census of 15-25 patients. Some days will be under 10, some days > 30.
Is there an anesthesiologist on staff? Or can the provide the conscious sedation? There is anesthesia support, no need for conscious sedation.
Who admits patients, the GI or a hospitalist? Hospitalists admits patients.
What is the inpatient/outpatient census? Average ER calls/consults in 24 hours is 10-12. Average consults from admitted patients in 24 hours (Surgeons or hospitalists): 4-5 per day, Average transfersin over 7 days from CommonSpirit Connect: ~10-15.
Average daily procedures on inpatients: 5-8
How many ERCP's are done per month at the site? 1-2 ERCPs per day (of the 5-8 procedures above.
Do they have coverage needs beyond April? Coverage beyond April is TBD, based on how well the team feels it works with the locum support.

Board Certified Gastroenterology - Required or Truly BE (0-5 years of fellowship completion with BC in Internal Medicine)
Active CO License - Required
Active CO DEA - Required for credentialing
Candidate must be available for any of the dates detailed in the job description - Required
Candidate must be able to perform ERCP - Required to note
Candidate must acknowledge they understand the call is handled at Penrose and St. Francis concurrently. - Required to note.
Clean Malpractice/background - Highly Preferred
