Phlebotomist - Florham Park (Part-time)

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist with experience in blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifuging, recording maintenance data, decontamination, and updating patient information. The role involves collecting and storing specimens according to established procedures and explaining the venipuncture process clearly to patients.

Responsibilities

• Collect and store specimens following established procedures.
• Clearly explain the venipuncture and specimen collection process to patients.
• Demonstrate techniques using straight and butterfly needles.
• Fully understand and execute physicians' orders.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes, and label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required.
• Ensure test requisitions or computer labels are correct against scripts.
• Package specimens properly for transport and store them at the required temperature.
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
• Attend annual department training sessions.
• Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to fulfill inquiries.

Essential Skills

• 6+ months of phlebotomy experience.
• Proficiency in blood draws and drawing techniques.
• Experience with straight needles.
• Knowledge of centrifuging and blood pressure monitoring.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• GED or High School Diploma required.
• Experience in internal medicine is a plus.

Work Environment

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Florham Park, New Jersey.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
