Per Diem Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Join the dedicated team at Hartford HealthCare, where every moment matters! As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you'll play a vital role in providing necessary diagnostic images for physicians, helping to identify and plan treatments for patients.

Location: St. Vincent's Medical Center, 2800 Main St, Bridgeport, CT 06606

Shift: Per diem, covering call and daytime shifts as needed.

Your Role:

• Operate nuclear detection and imaging equipment and prepare radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic procedures.
• Perform Nuclear Medicine procedures by adhering to department protocols and NRC regulations while ensuring patient safety.
• Prepare and position patients for examinations and administer isotopes for imaging.
• Monitor patients throughout the imaging process and ensure compliance with radiation safety standards.
• Review and verify completeness of physician orders and patient requisitions, ensuring all necessary preparations are conducted.
• Conduct quality control tests on equipment and radiopharmaceuticals to maintain high performance and safety standards.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies involving radioactive materials.

Qualifications:

• Certified Nuclear Medical Technologist credentialed from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or equivalent.
• Advanced certification in CT by ARRT required after 12 months of employment, unless otherwise agreed upon.
• Associates Degree in an Allied Health program related to Nuclear Medicine or completion of a one-year course in Nuclear Medicine Technology.
