Payment Processing Specialist

The Payment Processing Specialist is responsible for handling various monetary transactions, managing customer accounts, and ensuring compliance with banking regulations. This role involves processing accounts payable and receivable, assisting members with financial inquiries, and promoting banking products and services.

Responsibilities

• Process payments for accounts payable and collections for accounts receivable.
• Assist with monetary transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and check cashing.
• Open new accounts and maintain existing accounts following established banking policies and procedures.
• Promote and sell products and services suitable for customers.
• Participate in branch functions to support branch earnings and growth objectives.
• Engage in sales meetings and training programs to enhance product knowledge and selling skills.
• Ensure proper documentation for all accounts.
• Utilize ChexSystems and OFAC for new account procedures.
• Place holds on accounts for uncollected funds as necessary.
• Answer customer inquiries regarding account balances and transactions.
• Respond to customer requests, problems, and complaints, directing them to appropriate personnel if needed.
• Notarize bank-related documents when required.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in data entry and accounting.
• Experience in payment processing.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Competence in using Excel.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in handling accounts payable and receivable.
• A personable and welcoming demeanor.
• Ability to process 100 invoices per week.

Work Environment

This role is fully onsite, with a schedule of 8 AM to 5 PM. The team consists of three members, including this position, in a collaborative and welcoming environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Irvine, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $38.00/hr.
