Position Overview: The Patient Care Specialist/Medical Assistant will work collaboratively with our team to deliver outstanding customer service while following established processes and protocols. Your role is essential in achieving our clinical, financial, and service goals.

Work Schedule: This position involves a 37.5-hour workweek within a flexible schedule, including evenings and holidays, as determined by your supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

• Warmly greet patients and their families with a friendly demeanor.
• Assist patients with registration and appointment scheduling.
• Provide support as a medical assistant, including taking vital signs, preparing exam rooms, and assisting healthcare providers.
• Document patient encounters accurately in Epic.
• Perform lab tests and maintain quality assurance.
• Collect patient co-pays and verify insurance eligibility.
• Coordinate patient follow-up care and referrals.
• Manage incoming phone calls and provide excellent customer service.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and respect at all times.
• Carry out additional tasks as assigned to support the team.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of experience in a medical front office role.
• Intermediate computer skills.
• Willingness to travel for coverage when needed.
• Ability to be cross-trained as a medical assistant or possess current medical assistant certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with electronic health records, particularly EPIC.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes.
• Phlebotomy experience.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
