Job Schedule: Part time (20 hours per week)

Salary Range: $18.00 - $25.50

Sign-On Bonus: $5,000 for eligible candidates who commit to two years of employment.

Department Overview

Pharmacy Hours:

• Monday - Friday 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
• Closed Nights, Weekends, and 6 major Holidays
• Primary interactions with patients are conducted over the phone

No Pharmacy Technician License Yet?

If you don't have your Pharmacy Technician License, begin your journey with a Tech-in-Training License and enroll in Sanford Health's Pharmacy Technician University (PTU). This program is tailored to meet North Dakota's pharmacy laws and regulations. Sanford covers the cost of the program! Upon completion in 12 months, you'll be eligible to apply for your Pharmacy Technician License.

Job Summary

As a Specialty Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting our patients with complex and chronic medical conditions. Your responsibilities may include:

• Completing the initial review and intake of prescriptions
• Making refill reminder calls to active patients
• Promptly answering incoming calls and routing them appropriately
• Accurately filling prescriptions under pharmacist supervision
• Preparing and packaging medications for shipping
• Maintaining proper storage and security conditions for drugs
• Assisting with billing-related functions
• Engaging in quality assurance and customer-focused services under supervision

Qualifications

Applicants must be high school graduates or possess a GED. In North Dakota, Pharmacy Technicians must register as a Pharmacy Technician or Technician in Training with the ND Board of Pharmacy before starting employment. Candidates must also enroll in an ASHP accredited education program and obtain national certification within the required timeline.
