As an Ultrasound Technician, you will play a crucial role under the guidance of the Ultrasound Manager and Chief Technologist, utilizing sophisticated imaging equipment to create high-quality ultrasound images for radiological interpretation. Note that you may be assigned to any Diagnostic Radiology locations as required by departmental needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality and efficient ultrasound exams to assist in patient diagnosis.
• Adhere to routine protocols and physician instructions, minimizing repeat examinations.
• Provide compassionate patient care to ensure cooperation, safety, and satisfaction.
• Accurately identify patients and exams 100% of the time as per departmental policy.
• Complete necessary record-keeping tasks to ensure smooth departmental operations.
• Demonstrate proficiency in RIS software (Imagecast, VIP, Synapse, Syngo Dynamics) for scheduling and documentation.
• Engage in continuous learning to enhance personal skills and assist in training others.
• Seek professional development through seminars, courses, or certifications.
• Follow established safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment.
• Use equipment and perform duties safely, applying knowledge of body mechanics.
• Contribute to enhancing the patient experience in Diagnostic Radiology by achieving department-set satisfaction scores.
• Foster a welcoming atmosphere by clearly communicating and addressing patient concerns during procedures.

Qualifications
EDUCATION
One of the following is required: AS degree preferred from an accredited (CAAHEP) School of Diagnostic Sonography; AS degree with 12 months full-time Diagnostic Medical Sonography training; or Bachelor's degree with 12 months full-time sonography training.
EXPERIENCE
Must possess demonstrated technical skills to meet entry-level sonography standards.
LICENSURE
ARDMS certification (including Abdomen certification within 6 months) is required (ARRT Sonography may be accepted). Vascular certification must be obtained within 12 months, and OB/Gyn Certification within 18 months of hire. CPR certification is preferred.
SPECIAL SKILLS
Proficient in routine ultrasound techniques, familiar with computer/Pacs applications, and possess strong organizational and customer service skills.
PHYSICAL DEMAND
Ability to lift patients and push up to 40 lbs (portable ultrasound equipment).
