The Ronald McDonald House of Philadelphia (RMHC Philly) provides a welcoming place to stay, meals, and a supportive community for families of seriously ill children receiving treatment at nearby hospitals. Position Summary

The Part-Time House Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations during their assigned shifts, ensuring that families, volunteers, and the House itself are supported and cared for. This position acts as the primary point of contact for guests, assists with problem-solving, and ensures that the House remains safe, clean, and welcoming. The ideal candidate is compassionate, organized, and able to manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the on-duty manager for the House during assigned shifts.
• Welcome and assist families upon arrival and throughout their stay.
• Provide support and guidance to volunteers working in the House.
• Oversee safety, security, and cleanliness of the facility during shift.
• Respond to and resolve guest concerns in a compassionate, professional manner.
• Monitor and support House programs and services, including meals, events, and transportation.
• Document shift activities, incidents, and family interactions as required.
• Communicate effectively with staff leadership regarding House needs and updates.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in hospitality, human services, or a supervisory role preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to remain calm and supportive in emotionally sensitive situations.
• Organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, email, scheduling systems).
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Commitment to the mission and values of RMHC Philly.

Compensation & Schedule

• Starting Pay: $20/hour | $21/hour after 90 days of successful employment.
• Part-time position; evening, weekend, and holiday availability required.
• Paid training and ongoing support provided.
