Occupational Therapy Team Supervisor

The Occupational Therapy Team Supervisor plays a crucial role in assisting the Director of Therapy Operations with the daily functions of the therapy team. This position demands exceptional supervisory and communication skills to foster interdepartmental relationships and ensure effective patient care. You'll engage in evaluation, assessment, care planning, and treatment within your licensed discipline, spending 80% to 90% of your work hours directly caring for patients.

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to create a positive environment that aligns with the hospital's mission. You'll inspire and guide your team by holding them accountable for performance and motivating them to enhance their skills. Your responsibilities also include staffing, scheduling, training, and maintaining open communication across departments to meet the needs of patients, staff, and the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and support therapist assistants and technicians in their tasks.
• Assist with staffing and scheduling to ensure adequate patient treatment coverage.
• Foster staff development and mentoring for improved clinical skills.
• Maintain ongoing communication with hospital departments to meet collective needs.
• Convey the hospital mission to all staff members and uphold performance standards.

Qualifications:

• Current state license as a Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Speech Language Pathologist.
• BLS (CPR) certification required within 30 days of hire.
• For Speech Language Pathologists, completion of SLP Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) is required.
• Minimum of three years of discipline-specific or leadership experience, with at least two years in a clinical role.
• Active participation in the Therapy Clinical Ladder or possession of a specialty professional certification is preferred.

Physical and Skills Requirements:

• Ability to lift and move objects weighing at least 30 pounds, including assisting with patient transfers.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, along with critical thinking and time management abilities.
• Capability to work independently while meeting deadlines in a detail-oriented environment.
• Must be able to understand and communicate effectively in English.

This position may require working evenings, weekends, or holidays, and is based in an indoor, temperature-controlled environment with occasional outdoor exposure.
