Albany Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner for our Gastroenterology Department. The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a vital part of our healthcare team, providing specialized patient care through advanced practice nursing. This role requires collaboration with physicians and healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive, family-centered care.
In the dynamic setting of our healthcare facility, you will be responsible for assessing and managing patients with gastrointestinal needs. This includes ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, performing physical exams, developing treatment plans, and implementing therapeutic interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments and physical examinations of patients.
- Collect and analyze clinical data, including vital signs and laboratory test results.
- Diagnose medical conditions and develop appropriate care plans.
- Administer medications, perform minor surgical procedures, and oversee patient treatments.
- Ensure accurate documentation and coding for billing purposes.
- Lead and mentor clinical teams to facilitate efficient patient care delivery.
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program is required.
- Current NP licensure and certification are essential for this role.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records and billing systems.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Compliance with HIPAA regulations is mandatory at all times.
