Position Overview
Seeking a board-certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join a well-established, busy private nephrology group.
New graduates are encouraged to apply; comprehensive training program provided.
Ideal candidates will live in or near Poughkeepsie, Fishkill, or Newburgh.
About the Practice
Single specialty nephrology group with 6 Nephrologists & 4 Physician Extenders (NP/PA).
Affiliations with 5 hospitals, 8 dialysis centers, and 3 regional offices.
Busy, growing practice with a strong emphasis on quality patient care.
Schedule Breakdown:
3 weeks per month - Round in dialysis centers
1 week per month - Round/work in 1 hospital
Clinical Responsibilities
Dialysis Center Rounds
3 weeks per month dedicated to dialysis center rounds.
Hours: 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM.
Cover multiple centers, all within a short driving distance.
Responsible for seeing all practice patients on dialysis once per week. Spend 2-5 minutes with each patient and add notes
Weekly patient load: 125-140, divided into manageable groups.
Group A: Monday/Wednesday/Friday.
Group B: Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday (option to see all patients on Tuesday/Thursday).
Flexible schedule: possibility to see all patients on Monday and Tuesday, allowing Wednesday-Friday off.
Hospital Rounds
1 week per month at a single hospital.
Hours: 9:00 AM - 4:00/4:30 PM.
Round with one nephrologist and take notes.
Daily patient census: 35-55.
Utilize Cerner EMR.
