Monday - Friday 7:30-4pm with potential to be 4 10's

The MRI Technologist II performs magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures on patients of all ages for diagnostic, therapeutic, or research purposes. This role involves administering radiofrequencies within a magnetic field to produce cross-sectional and 3D images for interpretation by a licensed independent practitioner. The MRI Technologist II is responsible for applying principles of magnetic resonance safety, selecting appropriate pulse sequences, and maintaining archival storage of imaging exams.

Core Responsibilities

Perform MRI procedures utilizing MRI scanners and power injectors.

Assess and monitor patient vital signs and take appropriate actions in emergency situations.

Demonstrate understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, and MRI physics.

Serve as primary liaison between patients, licensed independent practitioners, and support team members.

Prepare, administer, and document medication activities in accordance with federal and state law.

Participate in quality improvement processes and continuous assessment of performance.

Engage in continuing education to enhance patient care and technical competence.

Additional Responsibilities

Apply principles of magnetic resonance safety to minimize risk to patients, self, and others.

Select appropriate pulse sequences and imaging protocols.

Document exam information in the medical record and maintain archival storage of imaging exams.

Assist licensed independent practitioners with specialized interventional MRI procedures.

Maintain confidentiality and respect established policy regarding patient records.

Provide patient education related to imaging procedures.

Educate and mentor students and other learners in the radiology environment.

Participate in ongoing quality assurance activities.

Requirements

Certification by the American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT) as an MRI Technologist or equivalent.

BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.

Minimum of one year of experience as an MRI Technologist.

Proficiency in venipuncture and IV access.

Demonstrated understanding of MRI safety protocols and imaging techniques.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
