Software Systems Engineer - Model-based Avionics

We're looking for a Systems Engineer with a strong foundation in software development to help shape and integrate complex, high-performance systems. This hybrid role combines model-based systems engineering (MBSE) with hands-on coding to drive traceability, validation, and optimization across mission-critical platforms. Key Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain SysML-based models that capture system behavior, software interfaces, and component interactions using tools like Cameo Systems Modeler
• Partner closely with software engineers to ensure models align with architecture and implementation in C++ and Python
• Contribute to the design and analysis of embedded and distributed systems, emphasizing software performance, functionality, and interoperability
• Translate system-level requirements into actionable software specifications and interface definitions
• Conduct trade studies and simulations to assess design alternatives and system performance
• Participate in code reviews, integration testing, and debugging of C++/Python-based systems
• Present technical findings and model insights to cross-functional engineering teams

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline
• 3+ years of experience in MBSE and software development
• Proficiency in C++ and Python, with a track record of building and debugging complex systems
• Hands-on experience with SysML and modeling tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler
• Solid grasp of software architecture, design patterns, and system integration principles
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $150000.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
